A Lady and Lit

I like to write

Finder’s Keepers (A Treasure Hunt)

Mirror, Mirror

I left those things for you
Tabbed next to the mirror
Fingerprints smearing on glass

I left those things for you
Tucked under the bed mattress
Between linen sheets
Not so loved in

And I glanced at your face in photographs
So much past
How did I know you so well
Intimately

In
ti
mate
ly

and then not

All the spaces between our bodies
Colliding together
Like waves and hair mixed in with sweaty teardrops
Kisses that lingered for hours

I left those things for you
Whispered in your ear
A secret only you could hear

I left them for you
